KURT REPANSHEK is the Founder, CEO, and EIC of National Parks Traveler. He has a passion for wilderness canoeing, backpacking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, road cycling, and playing fiddle. He has previously published America's National Parks for Dummies, National Parks with Kids, Hidden Utah, and Hidden Salt Lake City and Beyond. His work has also been featured in Smithsonian Magazine, Audobon, Jackson Hole Magazine, National Geographic Traveler, Hemispheres, Mountain Living, Parks, Forbes, Park City Magazine, and Sports Illustrated. Kurt is a recipient of the Utah Excellence in Journalism Award, George Wright Society Communications Award, Coalition to Protect America's Parks George B. Hartzog Award, and the 2008 Western Journalism and Media Fellowship. Kurt is a New Jersey native but has found a home here in the Great Basin.
